  15. SUNNYVALE, Calif., August 30, 1991—Asanté Technologies, Inc., the leader in
  16. Ethernet networking products for Macintosh computers, today announced
  17. aggressive price reductions—in some cases over 20 percent—that make the
  18. company's premium quality MacCon+ and MacCon3 Series of Ethernet interface
  19. cards the low-cost, price/performance leaders in their class.  Asanté is now
  20. the only major vendor to offer full-featured Ethernet cards for Macintosh II,
  21. IIsi, SE/30, LC, and SE computers at list prices as low as $299, a significant
  22. reduction from their previous price of $379.

  29. benefits that no other vendor can match, including:  full System 7.0

  34. For users needing the flexibility to migrate to different Ethernet media, the
  35. reduced pricing of Asanté's MacCon3 line of auto-configuring Ethernet cards is
  36. particularly attractive. With three ports built in to each card—for thick,
  37. thin, and twisted-pair Ethernet—MacCon3 cards support all three media options
  38. at prices less than that of competitors' cards which have only one or two types
  39. of Ethernet ports.  In addition, all MacCon3 cards come standard with 64K of
  40. onboard RAM.

  42. The price reductions follow closely on the heels of top ratings (4-1/2 and 5
  43. “mice”) from MacUser Labs for Asanté 10BaseT Ethernet cards, including two of
  44. the Asanté cards now priced at $299.  In testing 29 10BaseT Ethernet controller
  45. cards, MacUser noted Asanté's high performance, and ranked Asanté highest in
  46. reliability and support, citing the five-year warranty across the company's
  47. product line, its exemplary network diagnostic software, and its unique
  48. position as a single-source supplier for products and service.  "You won't go
